Worship for May 10, 2026
6th Sunday of Easter - To an Unknown God

Happy Mother's Day...and Happy Easter season!  Jesus has risen from the dead.  In our hearts and in our souls...He is alive!  This week we hear Jesus tell the disciples about the "Advocate" who the Father will be sending to help us.  We will also hear from Paul as he spoke to people about the god they worship.  We hope you can come worship with us and hear how Pastor Robert explains worship and an Unknown God.  If you cannot join us in person, please watch our service online at the link below.

Sunday School and Confirmation at St. Luke's

Our Sunday School Classes are back on their normal schedules!  Following is a summary of the classes we offer.

Our Adult class meets in the Joseph Classroom of the Fellowship Hall.  They have several teachers who rotate leading lessons.  It is a wonderful hour of discussion and fellowship.  If you have finished high school, you are invited to join this class.  We do invite our 2026 Confirmands to join the Adult class until the high school class has been created.

Our Confirmation Class finished their classes on Sunday, April 26, 2026.  Our current Confirmation program started on September 8, 2024.  We had Confirmation Sunday on April 26 and celebrated with eight young people as they are confirmed.   A new class will begin in September for our 6th graders.  We are currently putting together the curriculum and getting teacher assignments.  As we finalize our new Confirmation program, we will provide updates.  Congratulations to our 2026 Confirmands!!  As our current Confirmation Program comes to an end, we are currently looking into a class for our high school students.

We are happy to now have dedicated classes for our children.  We gather in the Sunday School area behind the Sanctuary and have a combined opening before breaking into our different age classes.  Since September 10, 2023, we have been able to offer classes for Pre-K through 5th grade.  Please bring your children and grandchildren for Sunday School.

Please continue to pray for growth in our Sunday School programs.

St. Luke's Hand Bell Choir

We are practicing on Sunday afternoons at 5:00 p.m. in our Sanctuary as we prepare upcoming specials.

We are still in need of a few players in order to use all our bells.  If you have ever thought about playing hand bells, please contact Jody Perrell.  We work to play a special each month.  And, of course, we plan specials for Easter and Christmas seasons.

Please continue to pray and support our St. Luke's Hand Bell Choir.

Chancel Choir Practice - Choir Room (Sanctuary Bldg)

Our Chancel Choir practices each Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.  in the Choir Room behind the Sanctuary.  We are now practicing specials to sing throughout this Easter Christian season and for Pentecost and Holy Trinity.

If you would like to help in the choir with any worship services, it is not too late to join us!!  Please come join our Chancel Choir at any time.  We love getting together and praising God through fellowship and song!

Mid-Week Bible Study

We meet on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. in the Joseph Classroom of our Fellowship Hall.  We are currently studying the book of Job.  Please come join our Bible Study and find out how God can help you in everyday trials and struggles.

Ladies' Bible Study

We will meet on Thursday, May 14, at 6:00 p.m. at Lisa McBride's home as we continue our study.  We are currently reading “Pilgrim’s Progress,” as retold by Cheryl Ford.  John Bunyan wrote “Pilgrim’s Progress” in the seventeenth century while he was in prison for twelve years.  The English monarchy had him imprisoned due to his preaching.  John Bunyan’s book is one of the best-selling books ever.  During the author’s lifetime, 100,000 copies were sold.  Sales have exceeded 200 to 250 million copies since the 1678 publication.  This book is second only to the Bible in widespread distribution.  It has been translated into over 200 languages.  Cheryl Ford has faithfully retold John Bunyan’s story.

If you have any questions or need more details, please contact Leanne Stanley or call the church office at 704-278-2710.
